This beautiful Asteroceras sp. ammonite has been carefully prepared from both sides; when held up to a light, the translucent honey coloured calcite is revealed. Of particular interest is a highly unusual calcite preservation that presents as abstract patterns on the surface. A unique example of this highly desirable ammonite.
Age:Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.
