Asteroceras obtusum - Charmouth, Dorset

A stunning Asteroceras obtusum from Charmouth, Dorset on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. This specimen was collected from a 'flatstone' nodule and exhibits particularly fine preservation. A fantastic example of this classic ammonite. 

Age: Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.

Location: Charmouth, Dorset, UK.

Size of ammonite: Approximately 4 cm. 

Size of block: Approximately 13.5 cm x 11 cm at its largest points.
