Asteroceras obtusum - Charmouth, Dorset

An Asteroceras obtusum from Charmouth, Dorset. This particular specimen was found in a 'flatstone' nodule on the 'Spittles' landslide. It exhibits unusual veining across the body chamber; an interesting specimen for the collector. 

Age: Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.

Location: Charmouth, Dorset, UK.

Size of ammonite: Approximately 6.3 cm. 

Size of block: Approximately 19 cm x 15 cm at its largest points.
