A stunning and rare Lytoceras sp. collected from Seatown, Dorset. This particular specimen was prepared by the late David Costain and retains the natural shape of the 'Green Ammonite' nodule that the ammonite was found within.
There is a sympathetic repair to the ammonite and nodule following collection (see photos 3 and 4).
Age: Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.
Location: Seatown, Dorset, UK.
Size of ammonite: 11 cm.
Size of block: Approximately 16.5 cm x 14 cm.
