Positive and negative Promicroceras planicosta cluster - Charmouth, Dorset

A beautifully preserved cluster of Promicroceras planicosta from Charmouth, Dorset on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. The rock was carefully split open to reveal the ammonites within, which were subsequently prepared further. Both halves fit back together well, creating quite the surprise when the rock is opened!

Age: Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.

Location: Charmouth, Dorset, UK.

Size of ammonites: 25 mm, 22 mm and 20 mm. 

Size of block: Approximately 9 cm x 6.5 cm.
