Promicroceras planicosta cluster - Charmouth, Dorset

A beautifully preserved cluster of Promicroceras planicosta from Charmouth, Dorset on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. These ammonites are presented on a generous piece of matrix in order to retain a fragment of fossil wood found at the core of this 'Woodstone' nodule.

Age: Lower Jurassic, approximately 195 million years old.

Location: Charmouth, Dorset, UK.

Size of largest ammonite: 22 mm.

Size of block: Approximately 20.5 cm x 19 cm at its largest points.
